I had the honor of writing the title track to Northern Seascape with Dan. The story behind the tune should be up on my site under "Behind the Music". Anyway, not long after "Northern" came out, Dan offered to sing or play on my next album, so one evening I wrote something that I could hear him singing on (ala one of the vowel sound vocalizations he did on a song that was I believe on "The Netherlands" album.) Dan's contribution to my new album is on a song called "Picasso's Midnight Stroll" |
This song is sort of the soundtrack to a vision I had of a frustrated artist walking the deserted streets of Paris late at night looking for the next image to paint. Dan did an amazing job with the vocals and then surprised me with an incredible blues guitar track that he added--it really took it to another level that I'd never have imagined. I'm very proud of the tune, as well as happy for Dan to have another avenue to express other aspects to his awesome talent that people rarely get to see. |

Jim Wilson Update April 2002 Jim's public television special, "Jim Wilson & Friends: Cape of Good Hope (and Other Musical Portraits)" begins "up-linking" to PBS affiliates Sunday, April 28. This means that it will be made available to them and when they air it is up to them. Some may air in the next week or two, some may air much later. If you are interested in viewing the special, you may want to consider e-mailing your local PBS station to request that they air it. You can find your PBS affiliate by visiting http://www.pbs.org . Jim's smooth jazz single, "Can't Find My Way Home" is doing really well across the nation and just reached #1 in St. Louis, Missouri! Also, the Adult Contemporary single "Donna Lynn" (featuring Stephen Bishop) tied for #3 on the "Most Added List". A recent review of Jim's album Cape of Good Hope (recently #8 in the nation in its genre) is below. That's all for now. As always, thanks for the support!
