Patience For The Moment
A life's made up of moments of intermittent bliss Checkerboard squares of finite pain and love you can't resist
Desperate acts of passion float on hopes thin spun veil Through day and night, black and white, angel wings or devil's tail
Moments, our life is filled with moments, some are tender waves of joy We wait through the pain for the joy to pull us through to the sunlight once again Have patience, patience for the moment Have patience, patience for the moment
So hard to stay upon the square as the game moves slowly on Kings and queens forced to move and bleed the same as pawns
Our memory in a tug-of-war as we're pulled from end to end Through points of vast betrayal fraught with love's consuming blend
Where will I be tomorrow? Where am I today? Frozen in the sands of time, I'm but a piece of clay.
Though clay within my own hands, I'm the sculptor and the art. Spinning on the potter's wheel to form a perfect heart
Moments, our life is filled with moments, some are tender waves of joy We wait through the pain for the joy to pull us through to the sunlight once again Have patience, patience for the moment Have patience, patience for the moment Have patience, patience for the moment
